Data controls
Delete account and data
Fathom has two separate data actions: reset local progress on your device, or delete account and synced data controlled by Fabulist.
Reset progress without deleting account data
Use this when you want to start over on the current device. This clears local solved puzzles, in-progress boards, and settings. It does not remove purchase records from Apple, Google, or RevenueCat, and it does not itself delete remote account records.
- Open Fathom.
- Open Settings from the main menu.
- Choose Reset progress.
- Confirm the reset.
Sign out to a fresh anonymous player
Fathom can also create a fresh anonymous player on the device. This changes the local player session and resets local progress, but it is not the same as deleting the prior account or all synced records.
- Open Fathom.
- Open Settings from the main menu.
- Choose Sign out.
- Confirm that Fathom should create a fresh anonymous player.
Delete a linked account in the app
If you linked Apple or Google sign-in, you can delete that linked account directly from Settings. Fathom will ask you to confirm, may ask you to sign in again for security, then creates a fresh anonymous player on the device.
- Open Fathom.
- Open Settings from the main menu.
- Choose Delete account.
- Confirm the deletion.
- Complete the Apple or Google sign-in prompt if Fathom asks for recent authentication.
Request account and data deletion by email
If you no longer have the app installed or cannot access the linked account, email Fabulist at:
Include enough information to verify and locate the account, such as your platform, whether you linked Apple or Google sign-in, the linked email address if applicable, and the short UID shown in Settings if you can access it. Do not send passwords or payment card details.
After the request is verified, Fabulist will begin deletion immediately and reply when the request is complete or if more information is needed.
What gets deleted
- Firebase account records controlled by Fabulist, where the account can be verified.
- Synced Firestore progress records associated with the verified player UID.
- Local player progress on the device when the app creates a fresh anonymous player.
- Support request metadata associated with the deletion request, except where retention is needed.
What may be retained
- Apple App Store and Google Play transaction records controlled by those stores.
- RevenueCat purchase entitlement records and other purchase, refund, fraud-prevention, accounting, tax, or legal compliance records.
- Anonymized or aggregated analytics that no longer identify a player.
- Crash diagnostics that are not reasonably linkable to the deleted account.
- Support correspondence where retention is needed to document the request or comply with law.
